YOKOSE, Japan - 181108-N-GC129-0076 SASEBO OUTER HARBOR, Japan (Nov. 8, 2018) Landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) Engineer, Electrician’s Mate 1st Class Billy Turner, and LCAC Craftmaster, Chief Operations Specialist James Marek, both assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, enter the well deck of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force amphibious transport dock ship JS Kunisaki (LST 4003) as part of an LCAC interoperability exchange. U.S. and Japanese forces conduct bilateral amphibious exchanges on an ongoing basis in order to improve tactical proficiency and shared understanding of procedures.
