SASEBO, Japan - 180114-N-IO414-057 SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 14, 2018) The amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) moored in Sasebo, Japan. The Wasp, capable of operating the U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Joint Strike Fighter, will replace USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship in 7th Fleet.
