U.S. Navy’s Oldest Operational Ship Completes Dry Dock Maintenance
YOKOSUKA, Japan - 180121-N-YG104-001 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Jan. 21 2018) – The brow is placed on U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) following the ship’s arrival to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka after departing dry dock, successfully completing extended dry-dock selected restricted availability (EDSRA) maintenance period. Blue Ridge underwent structural modifications and upgrades across a multitude of systems, extending her life by approximately 20-plus years. The ship and crew now enter a follow-on maintenance period and training phase to become fully mission capable for operations.
