USS Bonhomme Richard Ready For Sea Assessment

SASEBO, Japan - The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) departs Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo as part of a Naval Surface Forces-led two-day Ready for Sea Assessment that examines propulsion, navigation and watch team proficiency, which certifies a ship as deployment ready. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
