Dewey arrives in Sasebo for Up-Gunned ESG Planning with Amphibious Force
SASEBO, Japan - The San Diego-based Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105), with emabarked Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35 "Magicians" arrived in Sasebo, Japan for a scheduled port visit, Feb. 28. Dewey, assigned to the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, is on a scheduled deployment in the Indo-Pacific region to support training under the U.S. Pacific Fleet's Up-Gunned ESG concept and to serve as a forward multi-mission asset for any type of contingency.
