SASEBO, Japan - 180308-N-XK398-038 SASEBO, Japan (March 8, 2018) Sailors aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) heave in a mooring line as the ship prepares to anchor out for a weapons onload. Following a final amphibious certification, Ashland is schedule to conduct a routine patrol in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
