Reservists Go to Sea to Forward-Deployed Expeditionary Strike Group on Patrol

WESTERN PACIFIC - 180330-N-XK398-001 PHILIPPINE SEA (March 30, 2018) Gunner’s Mate Seaman Sheldon Hudson, a Navy Reservist from Texarkana, Texas , left, and Electronics Technician 2nd Class Matthew Chonka, a Navy Reservist from San Marcos, Texas, right, pose in front of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland’s (LSD 48) insignia on the starboard bridge wing. A contingent of Reserve Sailors supported the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) in a variety of jobs from administrative to deck to engineering, ensuring the Wasp ESG could execute all required missions during its Indo-Pacific patrol.
