Green Bay assist with security for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea - 181113-N-DX072-1060 PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (Nov. 13, 2018) Quartermaster 3rd Class Daija Anderson, from Houston, stands port bridge-wing lookout watch during a sea and anchor evolution as the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) arrives to Port Moresby. Green Bay is in Port Moresby preparing to assist with security efforts ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference and is the second U.S. ship to visit Port Moresby in the last two months. Green Bay is part of Amphibious Squadron 11 and is operating in the region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
