USS Pioneer sailed around Sasebo harbor for a Family and Friends Day cruise

191101-N-AD347-0141 SASEBO, Japan (November 01, 2019) Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force sailors from Hirashima-class Mine Countermeasures ship, Hirashima MSC 601 use a simulator program to practice driving a mine neutralization vehicle in order to hone their skills and mine hunting aboard Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Pioneer (MCM 9). Pioneer, part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, is operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.

USS Germantown arrives in Phuket

PHUKET, Thailand (Nov. 3, 2019) Marines, from 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 3rd Marine Division, stand watch on the forecastle, as the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) prepares to anchor near Phuket, Thailand.  Germantown, part of Commander, Amphibious Squadron 11, is deployed to the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.

Harpers Ferry and 11th MEU Arrive in Brunei for CARAT 2019

MAURA, Brunei (Oct. 10, 2019) Marines, assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), man the rails of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) as the ship arrives in Maura, Brunei, for Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei. Harpers Ferry and elements of the 11th MEU are ashore in Brunei to perform day and night training in an urban environment and to enhance interoperability and partnership between the U.S. and Brunei during CARAT Brunei 2019.

191006-N-VI515-0567 SOUTH CHINA SEA (October 6, 2019) Ships from Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group and Boxer Amphibious Ready Group conduct breakaway maneuvers while sailing in formation during security and stability operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet is the largest numbered fleet in the world, and the U.S. Navy has operated in the Indo-Pacific region for more than 70 years, providing credible, ready forces to help preserve peace and prevent conflict.
